This lovely residential neighborhood is sandwiched between Magnuson Park and Laurelhurst, just east of Ravenna and the University District. Quiet and serene, Windermere feels more suburban than urban, populated mainly by single-family homes with spacious lots and leafy green trees. The famed Burke-Gilman trail runs through it, giving residents easy access to one of the most trafficked biking trails in the region. Unlike many other neighborhoods in and around Seattle, Windermere doesn’t have much of a commercial district, but that’s not something its residents see as a downside, as anyone living there can enjoy the peaceful, undisturbed feel of this community on a daily basis, but quickly get to the city’s center in under 20 minutes.
