This South Seattle neighborhood takes its name from the stunning 300-acre public park it borders—a gorgeous green peninsula that reaches out into Lake Washington. While the park—with its many walking and biking paths, boat launches, beach, tennis courts, amphitheater for outdoor performances, and artists’ studio—is the area’s major attraction, this community has lots of other perks to offer its residents.
Quiet cul-de-sacs and tree-lined streets dotted with single-family homes make up most of this largely residential neighborhood, though it’s just a quick jaunt away from trendy Columbia City with its many bars, restaurants, and shops, and has its own smaller commercial district, mostly centered around a stretch of Wilson Avenue South, with several locally owned restaurants and businesses with serious fan bases. It also provides easy access to downtown—residents can easily drive up to Seattle’s bustling waterfront or iconic Pike Place Market in about 20 minutes.
